Hello, my name is Rodolfo Lorenzo and I am an associate professor in structural engineering at University College London, in the UK. This year, this cooperator ing some of the biggest challenges currently facing by building strong partnerships with some of the best institutions and organizations in the world. We are very proud to have built one of this strong partnerships with Nanjing Forestry University on structural on bamboo research to support the transition towards more sustainable construction industry. I first visited Nanjing Forestry University in 2016 when I was very impressed by the dynamism of professor Li haitao’s research group. And they are openous to explore multiple avenues to build a fruitful and long-lasting collaboration between our institutions. Since then, I have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to visit the beautiful campus of Nanjing Forestry University every year and witness new and very significant developments both in infrastructural and academic outputs, material licensing at an impressive pace. Our collaborative research projects and multiple publications have supported academic exchanges and creation of the international research center for bio-composite building materials and structures. This platform has enables yearly international conference and the launch of the new journal, Sustainable structures, consolidating a wide network of international collaborations built around the world. But our relationship with Nanjing Forestry University is not only about academic achievements but also personal gratitude for creating the welcoming and supporting environment which has always made us feel at home. My very warmest congratulations to everyone at the Nanjing Forestry University and its 120 year anniversary and I look forward to continuing our collaboration with this great institution for years to come.
大家好，我是来英国伦敦学院大学的结构工程方向的副教授Rodolfo Lorenzo。今年，大学提出了我们目前面临的最大挑战是与世界上最好的大学和科研单位建立坚实的合作关系。 在可持续发展的大环境下，我们很荣幸能够与南京林业大学就结构和竹材研究方面建立起良好的合作关系。我第一次来南京林业大学时在2016年，当时对李海涛教授课题组的工作激情印象非常深刻。他们非常热衷于在两校间建立长久的实质性的合作关系。从那以后，很幸运，我每年都能来到美丽的南京林业大学校园，见证贵校在基础设施，学术，以及新材料研究方面所取得的成绩。我们的合作研究包括多个科研项目和学术文章，我们开展了广泛的学术交流并在此基础上创立了“国际生物质复合建筑材料与结构国际联合研究中心（实验室）”，这个平台促成了每年一次的国际会议以及一个新国际学术期刊Sustainable structures的诞生，也帮助我们建立了一个由全球多所院校和科研单位组成的国际合作关系网。我们与南京林业大学的合作交流不止于学术方面，非常感谢南林给我们提供的非常友好的工作氛围和在各方面的支持，总是让我们感觉和家一样。我对南京林业大学的120周年校庆表示最热烈的祝贺并且期待在以后能与贵校有进一步的合作交流。
